Büke Schwarz was born in Berlin in 1988 and studied fine arts with a focus on painting and graphic arts at the UdK Berlin and at UAL London. She graduated from the UDK Berlin as a master student of Valérie Favre. In addition, she earned a Master's degree in Design at the HBKsaar with a focus on Sequential Image Narrative. Büke Schwarz has a soft spot for cinema and films in general. She is particularly fond of dark themes, but there are also humorous motifs in her work. Artistic techniques should always fit the respective project, one could say as her credo. Whether painting, drawing, printmaking, video, comic, every story needs a suitable stage - for this reason, "Jein" had to become a graphic novel.
