Michael Moratti, born in 1969 in Donauwörth, Bavaria, learned bookmaking from scratch. After training as a repro photographer/lithographer and studying printing techniques in Nuremberg, Michael Moratti spent 18 years as a customer consultant and project manager in Augsburg print shops. Since 2014 he has been publishing manager at Wißner-Verlag and as an author has published the picture books "Buba der kleine Elefant" (2015), "Das kleine Engele" (2015), "Das kleine Engele und die Wieselbande" (2016), "Buba und das blauen Nashorn" (2017) and "Leopold und Amadeus" (2019) at Wißner-Verlag. In April 2022, his first comic album in the series "The Unknown Adventures of Jakob Fugger", also drawn by him, entitled "Jakob und das goldene Fugger-Ei", was published by Wißner-Verlag. As a draughtsman, he is self-taught and works traditionally with pencil, ink pen and watercolours on 350 g/m² watercolour board.
