Ingo Römling has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in the comics scene: from his first book "Die Toten" (The Dead) to "Star Wars Rebels", making him one of the first official Star Wars artists from Germany, to a contribution in the new edition of the legendary "Métal Hurlant".
His favourite project, however, has always been "Malcolm Max", the steampunk mystery series penned by Peter Mennigen, whose powerfully eloquent scenarios Ingo Römling captures on the comic page in his inimitably elegant style in five volumes. The leap to the Grande Nation of the Ninth Art was thus only a matter of time and with "The Chronicles of the Universe" he also became a force to be reckoned with on the French comics market.
In the Erlangen exhibition, Ingo Römling offers a glimpse behind the scenes of his two current series and thus into the working methods of an artist who combines a great love of graphic detail and the classic Franco-Belgian style with the most modern digital techniques.
