Award Ceremony: ICOM Independent Comic Award

Since 1994, the Interessenverband Comic e. V. has been awarding this prize (currently endowed with a total of 1,000 Euro) for the incredibly lively publishing and drawing scene beyond the established industry giants and publishing groups based on the printing of comics imported from abroad. The ICOM Independent Comic Award is presented to comics that have applied for the award in the three categories "Best Independent Comic (self-published)", "Best Independent Comic (published by a publisher)" and "Special Award for a special achievement or publication" for the period of the previous calendar year.
