Each stone commemorates a person persecuted by the National Socialist regime. With well over 80,000 small brass memorial plaques in 27 countries, the world's largest decentralized memorial has been created since the mid-1990s. In cooperation with the WDR, the illustration class of the Kunsthochschule Kassel designed the app "Stolpersteine NRW - gegen das Vergessen", in which more than 200 stories behind the stones were illustrated in graphic stories by 22 artists: www.stolpersteine.wdr.de
