After the end of the colonial era in the 1960s, popular art movements developed, as in many urban centres in sub-Saharan Africa. One of these is that of the popular comic in Kinshasa. In an exchange with art critic Jean Kamba, artist Papa Mfumu'eto 1er talks to producer and scenarist Shekinah Kashama aka Rocky Prod. about their production methods, working methods and the role of popular comics for society and politics in Kinshasa.
